Artworks created in collaboration with the podcast
The Science of Birds
This is a podcast I highly recommend for people interested in science, nature and of course birds! The host, Ivan Phillipsen, weaves the science and research about bird features, species, behaviour and so forth in a presentation that is fun, absorbing and humorous. As each new episode comes out it is always the first on my playlist while I am painting.
From late 2021 I have worked closely with Ivan and led by his research and content creation I have created artworks correlating specifically to selected episodes.
This has become a project of passion for me by broadening the bird species list I have painted as well as extending techniques and style through these larger scale pieces.
Importantly for Ivan and myself we wanted to be able to ‘give back’ and to that end 50% of sale proceeds from these artworks is donated to Birdlife International to contribute to their bird conservation projects.
The artworks are available through the shop on the website for The Science of Birds Podcast and can be accessed via the button/link below. Note that shipping is included in the price.
